Sheryl Sandberg told women across the world to LEAN IN. Go for it. I like to believe that I do that most of the time. Yet for some reason when it comes to going after my weight loss goals I often LEAN AWAY!
I had a serious Oprah-like “aha” moment today with my health coach. As per usual I went through my list of excuses followed by her calling me out on my stuff. She ended our session by asking me, “Do you matter?” A simple, but tough question. When it comes to others I push past my limits. I disrupt my schedule. I go the distance even when I feel tired. I’ve even gone hungry! (Okay, now I may be exaggerating!).
My ultimate goal is to live a free and abundantly full, healthy life! However, the path to get there will take discipline, some pain, and a lot of discomfort. Am I willing to get comfortable being uncomfortable in order to reach my destination? I’m going to throw my health coach’s question to you: Do you matter?
Here’s my call to action for you: Think of that one healthy activity you keep delaying. Do it today. Or put it on your calendar for when you will.
I am going take that Soca-robics class I’ve been eyeballing for weeks at 11am. How about you?
PS – I created Fit & Fab Girls’ Weekend to give busy, successful women the chance to take a pause and put yourself first. We’ll workout, we’ll get smart about nutrition, we’ll get out of our own way, and we’ll even turn up a little!! If you’re interested check out the details.
Let’s make it a great day!
Thanks for being so transparent about your journey. Appreciate the thought provoking g question…yes! I matter.
Hugs,
Tracy
Thank you, Tracy!! Have to ask myself this now often. I recently started a daily devotional called “Made to Crave” that helps me get centered on my “why” each day. I hope all is well with you friend!
